XP Quick Fix Plus

There are a lot of excellent free Windows comprehensive repairing and fixing tools around the internet.
But there are times when you want just one quick fix for example when you are under a virus attack and you just want to enable the Task Manager or the Registry Editor so you can fight the virus back, or when some new installation changed your XP behavior and My Documents opens on every start up.
This is the right time to draw XP Quick Fix Plus with 40 common Windows XP problems fixes, only 0.58mb, portable, small and fast, a must have on every computer and with a small extra, a command line utility to fix 6 common problems directly from command line !

On 21/09/2009 this release was changed to version 2.0.1.0, the previous release (2.0.0.0) had a bug with the "Duplicate Iscons in the Desktop" button, it was settng the desktop into the default profile, if you used the previous version and clicked this button, use this release (2.0.1.0) to restore your desktop, download it and click that button again, then logoff and logon back !

The zip download includes two files one is a GUI application and the other one is Command line application, both need no install, they are protable applications, which means you just unzip and run the application, you don't need to install nothing for them to run

I cannot get the file tp download - keep getting an index.html file

What is file tp ?

willowtree said...

I'd guess that it's a typo, 'o' is right next to 'p'.

It doesn't work very well on a netbook (1024x600). I can't see all buttons and definitely not the tooltips.

Zvika said...

Are you using version 2.0.1.0 ?
Did you read the post on this issue ?
you desktop is still there, in version 2.0.0.0 there was a small bug in which it point your desktop to the default profile, you need to download 2.0.1.0 and click again on the fix you applied, the logoff and logon again and your desktop will come back

My wife's Vista laptop has lost the CD/DVD drive in the OS. It shows in the BIOS, but not in the OS. I've tried every fix I could find via Google, but nothing has worked so far. XP QuickFix has a tool to fix that in XP, would it work in Vista?

Open the reigistry editor (regedt32.exe) and go the this kye:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
if there is a value with the name:
NoDrives
delete it.

GeekDad said...

That key is not there. Only NoDriveTypeAutoRun.

Try my new tool "7 quick fix" this fix should work on Vista too
